Jose Mourinho

Man United 2 – Liverpool 1

Second place in the Premier League is now Man United’s to lose.

Facing their old enemy, Liverpool, at Old Trafford on Saturday, Man United did all their damage in the first half.

Liverpool were 2-down as Marcus Rashford stole the show.

Rashford, on his first start since Boxing Day, broke the deadlock with a fabulous solo effort from a Romelu Lukaku flick on.

The England international was on hand to slam home a second before the interval after more good work from Lukaku in the build up.

In the second half Liverpool put in a far more spirited performance, and they got on the board when Eric Bailly put a cross in his own net.

But Liverpool couldn’t find the leveller as United moved five points clear for the Reds.

What was Jose Mourinho writing?

During the match the TV cameras picked up on Man United manager Jose Mourinho scribbling lots of notes.

Of course Mourinho is well known for his note-taking during games: a few weeks ago against Chelsea he got a note delivered to Nemanja Matic mid-game.

So what was Mourinho jotting down this time around?

TV cameras gave viewers the following view of Mourinho’s note.

Jose Mourinho’s note vs Liverpool

Plenty of people took to social media to offer their thoughts on what Mourinho wrote.

Dear Mother. I write with news from the front. Morale is high. My men have been well supplied. We even have fresh socks to fend off trench foot. I strive to inspire them with my leadership. Even the sulky new little one named Alexis. Please send love to Sis. With fondness. Jose

“Dear Duncan, I meant to write you sooner but I just been busy…”
